With Gamescom on the horizon, Asus is taking advantage of this relatively quiet period to unveil its new laptop for Gamers. Here is the new Asus Zephyrus S and according to the Taiwanese manufacturer, it is the thinnest laptop in the world (17.75 mm at the thickest of the shell) with, inside, an Intel Core i7 processor, a screen 144Hz and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 Max P graphics card.
mentioned more than a year ago, the second generation of ultra-thin notebooks for gamers is starting to become a reality. The Zephyrus S (AKA GX531) offers an Intel Core i7-8750H Coffee Lake processor, an Nvidia GeForce GTX graphics card (1070 Max Q for the United States), a screen with thin edges and with a refresh rate of 144 Hz, an IPS panel with a diagonal of 15.6 inches in a 14.2-inch chassis, a response time of only 3 ms, support at 100% of the sRGB space, the new ROG Active Aerodynamic System (AAS) technology that optimizes ventilation and heat dissipation. Asus promises a 22% gain over the previous generation.

when we say it is ultra-portable, it’s because the Zephyrus S offers a thickness of 14.95 mm to 17.75 mm only, it is 12% thinner than the previous model from last year. Everything is contained in an all-metal chassis with a mixture of aluminum and magnesium alloy to ensure fineness and strength. There is, of course, Aura Sync technology for RGB lighting that gamers love so much, the main software allows you to manage everything via a new user interface and a companion on Android and iOS. Audio side, no surprises since the Zephyrus S offers two speakers on the front, they are located at the hinge, in addition, the Sonic Studio III application is to bring surround sound when you use headphones or VR headphones.

a bit more when it comes to the hardware side, the Zephyrus offers DDR4-266 RAM, WiFi 802.11ac, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI 2.0, USB-A 3.1 and USB-C 3.1 with the possibility of reloading the Zephyrus S on the latter (in addition to dedicated connections).
Obviously, the price varies according to the configurations. the release is scheduled for this fall of 2018.
