Everything Apple announced at its fall iPhone event, from the foldable iPhone Duo to an always-listening Apple Watch

During its first autumn hardware event led by newly appointed CEO John Ternus, Apple showcased its latest generation of iPhones and Apple Watches. Taking center stage was the tech giant’s highly rumored debut foldable device, the iPhone Duo. Additionally, the company took the wraps off the premium iPhone 18 Pro family, next-generation AirPods, and more.

Here is a comprehensive roundup of every major reveal from the “Surprise and Shine” keynote.

The Foldable iPhone Duo

Boasting a 7.6-inch folding Retina screen, Apple’s premier foldable, the iPhone Duo, also sports a handy 5.4-inch external display. According to Apple, the design was heavily “inspired by the versatility of iPad.” The internal panel utilizes an under-panel camera system, delivering an uninterrupted, edge-to-edge viewing experience.

Battery life is equally impressive, with Apple promising up to 31 hours of video playback using the main internal display, and stretching up to 44 hours when relying on the cover screen.

On the photography front, the handset is equipped with a 48-megapixel main Fusion sensor alongside a 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens that supports 2x optical zoom. Following foldable design trends, owners can snap high-quality selfies with the primary lenses by framing their shots on the cover display.

Structurally, the iPhone Duo’s hinge is constructed from durable Grade 5 titanium-aluminum alloy, integrating over 100 precision-crafted parts to deliver a seamless, fluid folding action.

Pricing for the entry-level 256GB storage option of the iPhone Duo begins at $1,999, offered in a choice of two colorways. Customers can secure their pre-orders starting October 16, with retail shipments scheduled to land in stores on October 23.

iPhone 18 Pro & iPhone 18 Pro Max

While the fresh iPhone 18 Pro models keep a familiar aesthetic, the most substantial enhancements lie in their re-engineered camera systems.

The Pro models feature a primary 48-megapixel lens equipped with a physical six-blade variable aperture. This mechanism is tuned to dramatically boost performance in low-light environments and accelerate shutter response times. On the software side, content creators gain access to advanced Pro adjustments—including manual control over white balance, shutter speed, aperture settings, and an on-screen histogram. Furthermore, an updated suite of “Photographic Styles” grants fine-grained control over film-like texture and grain.

Videographers can capture stunning 4K Dolby Vision HDR footage, with the added capability to modify and apply post-capture cinematic depth effects.

The iPhone 18 Pro is priced from $1,199, and the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max begins at $1,299, reflecting a $100 price increase across the board. Pre-orders kick off this Saturday, followed by general availability on September 18.

Apple Watch Series 12 & Apple Watch Ultra 4

While the physical design remains familiar, the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 introduce notable upgrades under the hood. Apple is heavily prioritizing smart software capabilities to provide a more intuitive user experience on your wrist.

To compete in the rapidly expanding market of AI-focused gadgets, Apple debuted “Audio Intelligence” capabilities. This tech helps users recall important aspects of their face-to-face interactions by tracking and summarizing spoken exchanges.

The watchOS updates include a “Live Rewind” option, displaying a 15-second text transcription of recent speech, alongside “Siri Recap,” which is designed to summarize key action items from business discussions or personal chats.

Additionally, the newly enhanced “Sound Recognition” system monitors the environment for alarms, sirens, knocks, or crying infants, offering real-time tactile warnings for deaf and hard-of-hearing wearers.

The Apple Watch Series 12 is priced at $399, with the rugged Apple Watch Ultra 4 coming in at $499. Pre-orders for both models begin today, and retail availability starts on September 18.

Next-Gen AirPods 5

Apple’s updated wireless audio gear, the AirPods 5, comes with substantial hardware improvements, including superior acoustics, more powerful active noise cancellation (ANC), and deeper Apple Intelligence integration.

The company claims the AirPods 5 can block up to twice as much external noise compared to their predecessors. They also inherit tactile stem swipe controls for adjusting volume—a feature formerly exclusive to the premium AirPods Pro model.

An optimized Transparency mode has also been introduced, letting users hear environmental sounds and localized chatter with much greater clarity.

With active noise cancellation enabled, listeners can expect up to five hours of use on a single charge, with the compact charging case extending total runtime up to 22 hours.

Pricing starts at $129 for the base model, while opting for the wireless-charging-compatible case bumps the price to $149. Pre-orders launch today, hitting shelves on September 18.

Reimagined Apple Health App

Apple also showcased a completely overhauled Health application, which leverages the power of Apple Intelligence to offer deep analysis of personal biometric data.

The fresh design includes an “Insights” dashboard that highlights urgent health patterns, provides customized advice, and calculates both a “Readiness” metric and your estimated “Health Age.” Additionally, a brand-new “Longevity” section analyzes tracking metrics from your Apple Watch and iPhone to rate your general well-being based on sleep patterns, activity, cardiac health, and other vitals.

The updated Health app is scheduled to launch later this autumn, initially rolling out in US English.
